As for the twins birthday.......I'm an advocate for making them each a cake with their own individual interests, each with their very own smash cake, of course. What are their interests? I realize they are only a year old, but is there a favorite toy or story that each of them likes, perhaps a train or doggy?
I'm not sure this helps or is what you are looking for, but that's how I approach each cake I do.
